On June 27 2015, the Tour de Force will start in Utrecht. It will follow all 21 stages of the 2015 Tour de France route, staying 7 days ahead of the professionals and finishing on July 19 on the Champs Elysees in Paris. This info session will tell you all you need to know about getting involved.
The majority of cyclists will ride a ‘Tour Taster’ package of between two and nine days. These Tour Tasters include stages which range from the shorter, flatter time-trials to those with 30km climbs, 12% hill gradients and up to five mountains! Tour Tasters are designed to suit everyone, and whatever you choose, one week later you’ll be able to watch the pros cycle exactly the same roads on TV.
Tour de Force also offer a limited number of places for ‘lifers’: cyclists who will take on the staggering challenge of completing the entire route.
Whichever challenge you choose, this is an awe-inspiring opportunity to experience the greatest sporting test in the world. And if you haven’t cycled in France before, be prepared for spectacular scenery, wonderful roads, friendly drivers and excellent bakery produce!
How it Works
Cyclists pay ‘Tour de Force’ for the cost of accommodation, food and transfers (plus a small admin fee) and agree to raise a minimum sponsorship for the William Wates Memorial Trust.
Tour de Force will provide all possible support during the event: a fully signed route, luggage transfers, cyclist transfers (when the stages are not contiguous), medical and physio support, mechanical support, accommodation and all food and drink (including snacks and water along the route).
Just as important is the moral support and encouragement you’ll receive, starting the moment you sign up for this fantastic challenge – Tour de Force will provide advice on training including organised training weekends and everything else we can think of that you might need to know!
So come along to Roll for the Soul on Tuesday Nov 4 from 5.30pm to find out about getting involved in 2015, from the organisers and from people who’ve taken part in previous years.
