Social impact report 2015/16

katie-jean_lambert_illustrationAs a Community Interest Company (CIC) we have to report each year to the CIC regulator. It’s a way of explaining how we’ve tried to benefit the community, and it enables the regulator to check that we’re not doing anything that’d be inappropriate for a non-profit. The most recent report that we’ve submitted is for 2015/16.

The report has to be submitted on a form called CIC34. The original form has crazy formatting which makes it difficult to upload to a website, so we’ve taken the content and put it in a PDF. You can view that PDF here. This covers the period from April 2015 to March 2016. We’re pretty happy with what we managed to achieve, particularly as just surviving is a challenge a lot of the time.

Of course a lot of what we did was bike-related and we’re committed to supporting and promoting cycling in Bristol. But we’ve also got involved in all sorts of other stuff. We’ve been delighted to work with voluntary groups, non-profits and creative people from a whole range of sectors. The thing that unifies them, and makes us glad to work with them, is that they’re all somehow striving to make Bristol and/or the wider world better. Often in small ways, but these small efforts – usually made for nothing more than the love of it or the sense that it’s right – are more important now than ever.

Thanks for reading and thanks for your support. It means a lot.

Thanks also to Katie-Jean Lambert for the lovely illustration on this page.
