Food and Wellbeing: four-week course

Our very own Isy, as well as being a tremendous cook, irrepressably smiley, possessor of excellent music taste and co-author of Another Dinner is Possible, is also a qualified nutritionist. She’ll be running a four-week food and wellbeing course here during March, Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

The course will explore the links between food, health and wellbeing, demystifying nutritional concepts, and emphasising a sustainable, holistic and pleasurable approach to feeding ourselves.

Topics include:

– nutritional concepts: healthy fats, vitamins and minerals, ‘superfoods’, fibre, blood sugar, food labelling

– sustainable and equitable food production and the problems with the food system

– your natural healthy weight and the potential harm of dieting

– food and mood, hormonal influences and intuitive eating

– enjoying healthy cooking

Classes will consist of a mixture of presentations, activities, groupwork, and discussion with homework given including completing a personal food diary. Tasty nibbles will be provided in each session!
