Cycle route mapping, open source data sharing session

Posted by: on Apr 4, 2014 | No Comments

Bristol City Council is interested in creating an open source cycle network dataset and they need your help.

This means that instead of data being held by the Council and covered by various copyrights and Ordnance Survey rules, it won’t be ‘owned’ by anyone, and everyone gets the opportunity to contribute to it and to use it in any way they want. This’ll help things like www.cyclestreets.net, for example, where any updates are automatically added so that the cycle maps are always up-to-date.

We’ll be hosting a session from 5.30pm to 9.00pm, where you can come along and contribute your knowledge. Bring a laptop if you’ve got one. Coffee and cake provided!
