The Bristol Bicycles launch will be held at Roll for the Soul on Weds March 25, with test rides and bike viewings during the day, and in the evening a prize draw for a competition on Facebook in which one lucky person will win a new Bristol Bicycle.
Our friends at local shop Jake’s Bikes are behind the new range of bicycles, and each one is assembled by hand right here in the city centre. The bikes are specially designed for commuting in Bristol, and so have a wide range of gears for our hilly terrain, and are engineered to be as reliable and practical as possible.
The frame and components have been chosen to give a comfortable riding position, adjustable to suit different riders. Smaller models have proportionally shorter cranks and smaller wheels. Even the little details are taken care of: a seam-free waterproof saddle, comfy handlebars with a small back-sweep, and bolt-on grips that won’t slip. There’s also a full Shimano gear and brake system, including hidden components such as the bottom bracket. There’s a cassette rear wheel to eliminate the risk of broken axles even when carrying luggage, and double-walled, eyeletted rims. Even the brake cables are rust-proof stainless steel.
Press, media and the public are invited to view and test ride the bikes on display from 10am, and the evening event will commence at 7.30pm with a short presentation and then the prize draw.
